Killing Time

Well the last day of my time off from work so with the afternoon to myself i thought it would be rude not to spend it out on the bike down in the sticks of surrey .So with the bike pointed that way with no areas of interest as such to visit i was on my way, clear roads once out of London and the sunny weather held out,so it was off the A roads as soon as possible and on to the narrow B roads to indulge myself with a bit of bend swinging.

Down to Margate, you can keep the Costa Brava, I'm telling ya mate I'd rather have a day down Margate with all me family

I was a bit dubious about another rideout after the Hastings run last month ,but boy what a contrast ! Hastings was a trial ..... massive traffic jams and overkill of police presence all the way down .Margate was the complete opposite , the little London of the south where everyone went for their holidays or their yearly Beano is now a town which looks like a recession hit seaside town ,many places now derelict or empty , but the biggest disappointment is Dreamland (the massive amusements park and funland )is no longer there ! GONE ! just a rather sad space and the burt out roller coaster where many a good time was had.
But this is about the Margate meltdown ride ,and this made up for some of the disappointment, after leaving London under some light showers ,nothing to bad ,and Gary's wayward fuse box on the CCM ,things started to look up .....as in the sun had made an appearance, with local knowledge (gary) we hit all the minor A&B roads all the way down ,once in Margate it was such a relief not to have to go handlebar to handle bar with the massed hoards,it was a well organised & marshalled event, parked up and got to have a good look at some rather tasty bikes, and a look around the town,i do hope that this will remain a regular event and bring some much needed tourism to the place ,its got a great sandy beach and some nice views.....it seems when Dreamland went the place just died !Well here are some pictures,oh by the way LONG LIVE MARGATE.

The Devil Makes Use Of Idle Hands !

Finally got round to changing the rear lights and indicators (the standard one look like some sort of UFO ! ) for something i feel look a lot better and more in keeping with the off road look.Small mini indicators front and back,i had to fabricate a couple of brackets at the rear to mount them ,and a Lucas style stop light ,i had to strip the wiring down to allow me to reposition the back indicators and a bit of swearing .But job done ,i think it looks much better .

Me and a few pals made our way down south coast of uk once again ,The morning was blanketed in thick fog and was bloody dense in some places and started to come through my clothing, and to make matters worse it was a bugger to see with no visor ! We started from London and pointed the sharp end of our bikes towards Ashford Kent to meet a few friends, then through the fantastic twisties to Rye for a fat tarts breakfast (2 sausages 2 bacon 3 hash browns ,mushrooms, beans ,egg, and a side order of toast )set us up for the morning,on to pevensey,Hastings, eastbourne, seaford then BRIGHTON,all in we put 250 miles on the clock that day,a few pictures of the day .Checkout the diesel Royal enfield
